Regarding VAT....Tsja, unfortunately tax is indeed charged when our shoes go to a country that is not a member of the EU. It depends on country what customs charges for that and south africa is apparently not cheap. Annoying for you and also for us. Unfortunately, we have no influence on that. Normally, this should be the case and you can track the status yourself. We do not see a need to build a customer portal of this in that case, but of course the track & trace code should reach you. Unfortunately, as with other brands, each manufacturer has its own lasts and some fall smaller in the same size as others. Also, every foot is different, one size 37 may be much roomier in the same shoe than someone else's who has, for example, higher cheeks. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about that.

Hello Geraldine, thank you for sharing your experience. We checked and can see you used the "normal shipping" option wich gives an estimate of 10 shipping days (note shipping days are without the weekends) with that in mind we calculated that the estimated time of arrival would be today but keep in mind that this is an estimate and during this period of the year(black friday, christmas etc.) many delays can occur. Also US customs can hold packages up to 3 weeks before clearing them and this is not something we can control ofcourse. To prevent having to wait a long time we'd advise using the DHL express option in the future (this especially shortens the time at US customs). We ofcourse hope you'll enjoy your shoes as soon as possible!

Dear Janet, We are quite shocked by this review and especially the rating you gave us as it seems that all the troubles you experienced are caused by factors out of our hands. You state that you were told that you had to pay 99 pounds import tax, this is decided by customs since the UK isn't a part of the EU anymore, we can't do anything about this. We contacted the delivery company and they declared that they came to your house 3 times and no one answered the door those times, again we have no say in when they came to your house or how and when they asked you to pay the import tax. Summarized, You ordered shoes with us, we send you the shoes you ordered in a timely manner and when we received the shoes back we refunded you your money right away. This is all we could have done on our end. We are a shoe shop, we are not a delivery company and we are not customs. Please know we are working very hard for our customer satisfaction and a small specialized business like ours can really be hurt by a review like yours.

What we can see is that the shoes were shipped January 19. They arrived in USA January 20 and have been at customs depot from 20/1 to February 9. Yesterday they arrived in your state and today (10/2) they will be delivered. We find this very annoying for you, but can not do anything about it, because we have no influence on the customs of a country. What we can recommend is, next time don't have it sent by regular mail, but by DHL express. DHL has its own customs service, it's a bit more expensive, but it goes a lot faster. Again Allen, we are very sorry for you. We hope you like the shoes and you will enjoy them a lot!

Hello Yesenia, we see that the shoes were delivered on January 13. That's a long time, we think it's because Christmas and New Year's were in between, a very busy period. We recommend you next time to have the shoes delivered by DHL Express, it's more expensive, but really a lot faster. We are very sorry that you had to wait so long for the shoes. We see that the ankle boots were ordered on December 29 and delivered January 4. We think the package was slightly delayed because New Year's Eve was in between. Hello Daniel, great to hear your story. Normally the customer will receive automatically a link to track the package. Occasionally DHL is having a failure. Then we have to make the address label manually and you won't get an automatic link from DHL. If you don't get it automatically, just ask for it by email and we'll send that link immediately. First of all, I am sorry that you are disappointed. Second there is a size guide that tells you exactly how big the size is and how to calculate your size. We sometimes see this problem in our store with ladies customers with a small size who are used to buy children's shoes or sneakers. Children's shoes and sneakers fit completely differently. Children's shoes are made for still developing children's feet. An adult foot often needs a larger size of those shoes, because they fit narrower. Our women's shoes are made on real women's lasts, with enough volume for an adult foot, they are much more comfortable for an adult foot and you can easily take a size smaller. Sneakers often have American sizing and differ one and a half size from dress shoes. By the way, this was a discounted last pair in the Clearance, we are surprised that you have not returned the pumps

Dear Ian, we sent the shoes on Thursday December 27th, they arrived in South Africa on Thursday January 2nd ( 5 working days). Friday 3 January you received a request for payment of import duties (another weekend). After payment the shoes arrived January 8th. We find it very unfortunate that due to a concurrence of holidays, weekends and handling of S.A. customs it took so long to get the shoes to you. In normal times it doesn't take so long. Unfortunately we have never had an email from you about this. We always answer and of course would like to see pictures of the "damage". The shoes are made of luxury calf leather, high quality (1 year old calf). We do not sell worn shoes, some shoes are exhibited in the shop, but not in this size. And then the special construction does not damage the rubber-injected sole.
